researchers The researchers for the "Unspoken Knowledges" project are all those connected with the project who contribute in significant ways to the identification of new knowledge, different understandings and fresh insights about the making of choreographic works. Thus the Australian Research Council, which has funded the project, recognises the Chief Investigators from the Victorian College of the Arts and the University of Melbourne as the primary researchers and the Associate Investigator as a key contributor. The Chief Investigators, however, know that it is the creative thinking of the choreographers as Research Associates which is at the heart of the research. The choreographers know that it is the dancers, working as Research Assistants who will provide the final realisation of the knowledge which is to be discovered, or revealed in the research process, whereas the dancers, in their very bodies, know how misleading it is to sever fine dance works from the choreographic process of bringing them into existence. It is the Industry Partners, nurturing innovation and vision, who make it possible for the work of the whole team to be made known to the dance industry and to the wider world of choreographers and dancers, writers and scholars beyond Australia who have taken an interest in the work. |
