Treading Pathways 2007 Steering Committee

Terms of Reference

The Treading the Pathways Steering Committee has been provided Terms of Reference for their tenure and is as follows:

• The Steering Committee is a national representation of Indigenous dancers established to assist the National Indigenous Dance Coordinator in the devising and delivering the Strategy for Treading the Pathways.
• The Steering Committee will function for the initial duration of the existence of the position of the National Indigenous Dance Coordinator (NIDCO). This will be until February 2008, and will be revised should the Treading the Pathways project continue.

The Steering Committee will advise on

1. Issues and concerns affecting mid-career Indigenous dancers in their respective communities/regions.
2. Identifying environmental impacts on mid-career Indigenous dancers, including ways to remedy negative impacts on Indigenous dancers’ practice.
3. Enhancing the sustainability of mid-career Indigenous dancers’ careers.
4. Advocating developments and initiatives occurring as a result of Treading the Pathways.
5. Report in writing to the National Indigenous Dance Coordinator, developments that occur within their respective regions, as a result of Treading the Pathways.
