World Dance Alliance & Ausdance

When WDA–Asia Pacific was formed in Hong Kong by Carl Wolz in 1990, Ausdance National was there, sharing the aims and structure of this organisation in the debates about how WDA–AP would be structured. Since then Ausdance has contributed some of its best strategic thinkers to the growth of the organisation, and is now working with Ausdance Queensland to present the Global Assembly of the World Dance Alliance in Brisbane next year.

Ausdance National is the Australian chapter of the World Dance Alliance—Asia–Pacific (WDA–AP), with three Executive Board members of the organisation based in this country: Cheryl Stock, Vice–President, Pacific Region; Nanette Hassall, Chair of the Creation and Presentation Network and Julie Dyson, Secretary.

Ausdance National also publishes Asia–Pacific Channels, the Newsletter of the World Dance Alliance—Asia–Pacific. Channels is published in June and December and profiles dance events and activities from networks and member chapters.

WDA Asia–Pacific is one of three regional centers that make up WDA. The other two are WDA Americas and WDA Europe. Networks based on specific areas of interest, focus the activities of WDA and WDA Asia–Pacific.
